For US plumbing contractors

Plumber answering service, 24/7.

A plumber answering service is the search when the phone rings and you are on a job. The free steps turn that voicemail into a request you book yourself. The night log under that is a made-up Phoenix shop and the paperwork one of those jobs can leave.

Do this yourself

The free steps for this one job

A plumber answering service is what you search when the phone rings and you are under a house. This page does that one job: the voicemail becomes a Jobber request, and you book it. Invoices, permits, and reviews are other jobs.

Book the missed call from the voicemail

Record a greeting that asks for four facts, send the voicemail to your email as text, and put a Jobber request link in the greeting. When you are back at the truck, paste the transcript into the prompt and create the request yourself. You pick the time. The note does not invent a price or an arrival.

Get the missed call as text

If the shop number is Google Voice, do this on a computer.

  1. Open voice.google.com. At the top right, click Settings, then Voicemail.
  2. Turn on Voicemail transcripts.
  3. Turn on Get voicemail via email so the transcript lands in Gmail.
  4. Call the shop number from a second phone, leave a message, and confirm the email shows the words you said.
  5. If the shop number is an iPhone, follow the voicemail article linked below before you change anything. Live Voicemail can take the call before a forward does. Test with a real call.

Say the booking link in the greeting

The greeting asks for a name, a callback number, the street address, and what is leaking or blocked. Then it reads the Jobber link slowly. The greeting article linked below is the writing pass. Record it, call it back, and listen once.

Put a request form in Jobber

Jobber's own help (read 6 Oct 2026) puts online booking on a request form. Use a request you approve. A slot the caller grabs while you are on another job is a different setup.

  1. In Jobber, select the gear icon, then Settings, then Requests and Bookings.
  2. Under Forms, select Add New Form. Leave it as a request form.
  3. Add questions for the address, what is wrong, and whether the water is shut off.
  4. Save. Copy the form link. Put that link in the greeting and in the text you send back.
  5. If you already run Housecall Pro or ServiceTitan, skip this click path and paste the booking note into the schedule you already use. This page does not claim a connector to any of them.

Turn the transcript into the request

Paste the email transcript into the chat tool you already use, under the prompt. Then type the result into the Jobber request. You book the visit. If a line says MISSING, ask the caller before you promise a time.

Paste this, then paste the transcript under it

You turn a voicemail transcript into a plumbing job request.
Use only facts in the transcript. If a fact is missing, write MISSING.

Output:
- Name
- Callback number
- Address
- What is wrong, in their words
- Time they asked for, or MISSING
- Water shut off: yes, no, or not said

Do not invent a price.
Do not promise an arrival time.
Do not decide whether the job is urgent.
If they asked for a price or a guaranteed arrival, write: owner decides.

If you would rather have it built

Deeplathe builds custom AI inside the tools a business already uses. For this job, that is the voicemail becoming a booking note in Jobber, or whichever schedule you already run, waiting until a person confirms it. Less than a hire, more output. The steps above are the whole fix if you want to do it yourself.

Rinnai's page says "your purchase" and does not define it. This desk counts from the day the homeowner signed for the unit, the earliest date on the ticket. Your office can set a different start. Rinnai says residents of California and Quebec, and of other places that bar tying warranty to registration, lose nothing by not registering. Arizona is not named. Rinnai also says "Labor coverage does not apply to all products". On Navien's NPE-A2 and NPE-S2 tankless warranty pages, and on the tank makers' pages we checked, we read no registration window, so the board puts no clock on those installs.

Gus is an AI. Typed here or spoken in the corner, he answers from the made-up board on this page. Messages go to Anthropic to be answered, and Deeplathe keeps no transcript.

08:30The owner is in, with questions

What a plumber asks first.

Our field-service software already does a lot of this.

Scheduling, dispatch, invoicing, price books, estimate follow-up, service plans, equipment history and custom forms are sold inside the software you already pay for. The free steps on this page book the missed call into that software's request form. The night log below is the paperwork a job can leave, on made-up tickets.

How often does this even happen at a shop my size?

We do not know, and we will not quote you a statistic. Count it yourself. Pull last month's after-hours tickets and mark each one where a wall was opened, something beyond repair parts was sold in the home, the total went over $1,000, or a tankless went in. If the count is near zero, this is not for you.

Does the AI decide whether a job needs a permit, or submit anything?

No to both. Whether work needs a permit is a code question, and your license answers for it. Your plumber marks what he did, and the board prints the text the City of Phoenix published for that kind of work, with its section number and the clock if there is one. The AI fills the application, the cancellation notice, the missing contract lines and the registration form from the ticket. A person checks each one, signs, and submits under their own login. It never changes a date or what the plumber recorded.

We are not in Phoenix.

Then the Phoenix and Arizona rules on this page are not yours. Mesa, Gilbert and Chandler are separate jurisdictions too, and we have not read their codes. Before we build anything for you, we read the permit rules of the city you work in and the contract and home-sale rules of the state that licenses you, and put them on the board with their section numbers. If your city sets no emergency deadline, the board says so. The cooling-off rule is federal, and a state may add its own on top.

Will it answer our phones at night?

You still pick up when you can. When you cannot, the greeting, the voicemail transcript, and the request form on this page take the booking down for you to confirm. The night log below starts from the note your plumber writes after the job.
